BIG ONLINE QUIZ NIGHT: FEBRUARY 2022 WITH SHAUN WILLIAMSON

This was definitely a first for the Society!

As a result of needing to postpone the plans for a physical Spring Dinner, the committee decided that there was still a desire for some membership connection.

So the BIG Online Quiz Night was put together.

However, in true Old Friends fashion, it was a quiz night with a difference!

Our quizmaster was Shaun Williamson who you may remember as Barry from Eastenders and many other TV and stage roles.

Shaun’s real passion, however, is quizzes.

He won Celebrity Mastermind in 2000 and has appeared on the winning teams in The Chase, Pointless (3 times) and Eggheads. His particular penchant is for quiz nights mixed with a lavish dose of comedy and he was buzzing for the Old Friends BIG Online Quiz Night.

Sadly, there was not a huge turnout of members.

But those that did join, had a thoroughly enjoyable quiz night with a lot of laughs along the way, thanks to the excellent Barry (from Eastenders!)

There was even a special prize to be won the best quizzer(s).

This magnificent CD full of memorable tracks from the classy band King Karma whose lead singer was none other than Shaun Williamson creating music that was widely dewscribed as gritty, bluesy, ballsy and hard to pin down!

Steve Harrop won the quiz and the CD was justifiably his.

In an amusing twist, Simon and Hayley Webb came second and got 2 signed copies of Shaun’s CD.

What a great fun night!
