Our guest Meera Syal, actor, writer and comedian, delighted the audience with her charm and wit. Regaling stories from the hit comedies  ‘Goodness Gracious Me’ and ‘The Kumars at No. 42’ she took the Old Friends audience back to her roots in the Black Country.

Her book, ‘Anita and Me’ ( a GSCe English syllabus text book) was based on her childhood experience growing up in the mining village of Essington. It was a colourful evening with laughter and mirth complete with a fabulous gourmet meal.
